NAFC established the Not Forgotten™ Scholarship Program to help transition military personnel into a rewarding career following their deployment.
Once enrolled in the Not Forgotten™ Scholarship program, NAFC will educate, train and mentor military students and veterans so that they have the practical knowledge and skill-set to build rewarding careers as Certified Personal Trainers, Group Fitness Instructors, Nutrition Coaches, Pilates Instructors, Wellness Consultants, or a combination of the above.
Who qualifies?
The Not Forgotten™ Scholarship Program is available to all active, reserve and retired Military personnel and immediate family members above the age of 18.
Once you are approved, the Not Forgotten™ Scholarship Fund will cover 100% of the expenses for all NAFC course material, excluding certification exam fees.
In addition, all active duty, reserve, veterans, and eligible spouses and dependents can receive reimbursement from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs through the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill for fees associated with our NAFC Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Nutrition Coach, Pilates Instructor and Wellness Consultant exams.
How Can I Apply for Reimbursement?
After earning your NAFC certification, visit the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill website and click on the Apply for Benefits.
- Complete the Veterans Online Application (VONAPP)
- You’ll need to include the following:
- Full Name
- Mailing Address
- Home Phone Number
- Social Security Number
- VA File Number (if different from your SSN)
- Name of NAFC Certification You Earned
- Date of NAFC Certification Exam
- Cost of NAFC Certification Exam (as listed on the NAFC website)
- Copy of Your Exam Results or a Copy of Your NAFC Certification
- Name and address of Organization Issuing License:

Statement for Qualification - Prerequisite
A NAFC Personal Fitness Training or Group Fitness Certification must accompany your Virtual Workshop purchase. To complete your Certification, you must participate in either a Live or Virtual workshop and achieve a passing grade. You may also choose to take the Virtual Workshop as a stand-alone CEC fulfillment to maintain your CEC standing.

If you are confident in your ability to pass general fitness, anatomy & physiology, weight training, lifestyle consulting and fitness assessment, without first studying the NAFC study course material, this option would be for you.
Product Detail
To become certified with the National Association for Fitness Certification, you must pass both the theory exams and practical exam with a minimum score of 80%. If you receive a no pass on the theory exam, a retake will be necessary. The retake cost is $25.00. When you have completed and passed the theory exams, you may schedule a virtual appointment with an NAFC Evaluator by emailing education@nafctrainer.com to complete the practical portion of this program.

Job Placement Guarantee Guidelines
If you have met all the required criteria but still have not secured a job within 90 days of completion, NAFC will refund all amounts paid to NAFC for the course package. This money back guarantee applies to the NAFC Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, and Nutrition Coach course packages only.
To receive this refund, you must have applied for at least 5 positions related to the purchased NAFC certification within the 90-day period and have met the criteria for each position (including passing any required background checks). Failure to appear for a scheduled interview will disqualify you from this money back guarantee.
You must also have met with an NAFC Career Management Specialist and satisfied any additional requirements that they assign.
Any refund must be requested from NAFC’s Member Services Department within 12 months of purchasing the NAFC course (with Job Placement Guarantee). NAFC reserves the right to request evidence of purchase and/or of job applications and rejections. NAFC may, at any time and without prior notice, change the terms of, or discontinue, this Job Placement Money Back Guarantee.
